Heat Pumps are the future of clean home heating. In Heating & Plumbing, you’ll be part of a team who visit customer homes to install brand new Air Source Heat Pumps.

Whether you’re wiring up the new system, or installing pipework and radiators, we’ve got a role for you in Heating & Plumbing. Don’t worry if you’ve not got experience working with Heat Pumps – we’ll give you all the training you need to become a pro.

We’re looking for Electricians with a track record of safety and customer excellence, who are passionate about the mission Octopus is on.

What you’ll do
As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, we’ll ensure you have the best of everything you need to deliver the top-class service we’re aiming for. You’ll have the backing of Octopus Energy’s massive tech power – so we’ll be able to constantly evolve and shift processes to ensure we’re always delivering our best service. This should help to keep admin to a minimum, allowing you to focus on what you do best. You’ll be responsible for:  

  • Installing any of our exciting low carbon technology in customers’ homes 
  • Working collaboratively with our wider team to deliver solutions that are right for you and your customers 
  • Using your knowledge and experience of electrical works to complete installations and deliver outstanding customer service that our customers know and love 
  • Continuously learning about new technologies at our innovative R&D training centre 


What you’ll need

We’re looking for Electricians with a proven track record of safety and customer excellence. You’ll be representing our brands in our customers’ homes; in many cases, the first face-to-face contact a customer has with Octopus Energy – so our expectations are high.  You must: 

  • have a full UK driving license with no more than 6 points 
  • have 18th Edition, Part P/ installation qualification and Inspection & Testing qualifications 

 Other qualities we’d love to see include: 

  • A flexible working approach 
  • Customer service experience 
  • It would also be pretty awesome if you have EV or solar qualifications!

From day one you’ll be learning about new technologies and getting awesome training to give you the skills to assist the installation engineer. You’ll be responsible for: 

  • Working as part of a team to install low carbon technology in customers’ homes – starting with Air Source Heat Pumps 
  • Using your knowledge and experience of heat pump installations to deliver an amazing experience 
  • Reviewing and collaborating on technical specifications and mechanical drawings 
  • Working with an electrician to commission Air Source Heat Pumps 
  • Continuously learning about new technologies at our innovative R&D training centre 

 

Who you are
We’re looking for passionate people who have worked on the installation of heating systems, and we provide full training for candidates looking to make the transition to renewables. What do we need from you? 
 

  • G3 (unvented cylinder) qualification OR proven experience 
  • Experience in the installation of boilers – it’s a plus if you know about Air Source Heat Pumps 
  • Experience as a plumbing and heating engineer with knowledge of heating system design and the ability to fault find 
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points 

You may also have qualifications such as WRAS Water Supply Regs, Gas safe certification, UHW10/HWSS or the BPEC L3 heat pump installation, but these are not essential!

Who you are
We’re looking for passionate people who have worked on the installation of heating systems, and we provide full training for candidates looking to make the transition to renewables!  

  • NVQ Level 2 plumbing qualification (or equivalent experience) and plenty of experience on the ‘wet’ side of domestic heating systems 
  • It’s also essential that you have a full UK driving license with no more than 6 points. 

Other qualities we’d love to see include: 

  • A laser customer focus – communication is key 
  • A proactive, ‘can do’ attitude 
  • A keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills 


WRAS Water Supply Regs or UHW10/HWSS Unvented DHW Storage Systems can also be beneficial but not essential!
